Booking and arrival

What’s the quickest way to get on the schedule?

Either phone us or fill in the online form with the kind of appliance, your ZIP, the day and time you prefer and a line or two about what it’s doing. A model number or error code helps; read it out on the phone or add it to the problem description on the form. Both routes end with a person from our office ringing you back to settle the visit.

How precise is the arrival time?

We give a two-hour span on the callback, which lets you plan the rest of the day around it. Most people find that easy to work with, even on a workday. Should the route shift while the technician is on the road, someone calls you about it rather than leaving you to wonder at the front window.

Can a technician come today?

Often, yes, provided you reach us early, because the schedule fills as the morning goes on. We work Monday to Saturday and close on Sunday. Cooling failures get priority on the route: a freezer full of meat cannot wait the way a slow-drying load of towels can.

Does it matter whether I call or book online?

Both land on the same schedule with the same technicians. The difference is on the repair bill: a visit requested through the online form gets up to $15 off the repair. The diagnostic itself never shrinks, and phone bookings don’t receive the reduction, so the form earns its extra minute.

Does someone need to be home during the visit?

Yes. A grown-up who can let the technician in, describe what the machine has been doing and accept or decline the written price should be there. Clear a path to the appliance if you can, and shut pets in another room so the door can stay open while tools come in.

The $89 diagnostic and the written price

So what does $89 actually buy?

The trip to your home, the testing and the answer. In practice that means a meter on the suspect components, an infrared thermometer on any cooling compartment that runs warm, the time to rule out the parts that are fine, the failed part named in ordinary words and a single written figure for fixing it.

Is the diagnostic added on top of the repair price?

No. Once you approve the repair, the diagnostic is folded into that written figure, so the visit is never billed and then billed again for the work. The invoice shows one total for the job beside the written warranty, and the number matches what you agreed to before anything came apart.

And if I decide not to repair the machine?

Then $89 is the full bill for the visit, and you owe nothing else. You keep what the technician found anyway: the part that failed, the readings behind that call and what the repair would have cost. Some people carry that to an appliance showroom to compare; either way the decision is yours.

Can you check two appliances in one trip?

Yes. Mark the second-appliance box on the form as you book, or bring it up when we call back. With the technician already in the house, the diagnostic for that extra machine costs $10 less. Each appliance gets its own written figure, and you may approve one fix, both or neither.

Why won’t you quote a repair price over the phone?

Because one symptom can come from several parts. A dryer that runs cold might have a burned thermal fuse, a failed element or a weak igniter, and those repairs cost very different amounts. We would rather measure first and commit to a single price than guess low on the phone and change the number in your kitchen.

Appliances, parts and brands

What kinds of machines do you work on?

Six kinds: refrigerators and freezers in built-in, French-door, bottom-freezer, top-freezer and side-by-side layouts, garage and basement units included; washers of every loading style, stacked ones too; dryers on gas or electricity; dishwashers; ovens, ranges and cooktops, from wall ovens to glass-top and induction; and refrigerator ice makers. Every job is done in your home.

Is there anything you don’t work on?

We leave microwaves, wine coolers, standalone ice machines, furnaces, water heaters, water softeners, garbage disposals, small countertop appliances and all commercial equipment to others. Electrical trouble outside the appliance is an electrician’s job as well: we test the outlet, breaker and supply, and if the fault sits in the house wiring, we tell you so and stop there.

Which brands do you service?

Most of what we open carries a Whirlpool, GE, LG, Maytag, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Bosch or Kenmore badge, and we also work on Speed Queen, Miele, Amana, Thermador, Electrolux and Café. Samsung washers, dryers, dishwashers and ranges are on our list as well. None of this makes us a manufacturer’s representative; we are an independent company.

Do technicians carry parts?

The van holds what these machines need most often, from igniters, thermal fuses and belts to drain pumps, inlet valves, door gaskets and defrost heaters, so many repairs wrap up during the first visit. When something must be ordered, we come back to install it, and that return trip adds no second trip charge.

What if my appliance is still under warranty?

Tell us when you book, and have the purchase date handy if you are unsure. When the maker’s warranty still covers the machine, we say so before anything else, because a covered repair should go through the manufacturer. If the coverage has run out, the visit goes ahead the usual way, with a meter, a diagnosis and one written price.

Burnsville and nearby cities

Where do your technicians travel?

We are based in Burnsville and also work in Bloomington, Eagan, Apple Valley, Rosemount, Lakeville, Prior Lake and Savage. That reaches from Normandale Lake and the river bluffs down past Lake Marion, and from the Credit River east to Akron Avenue. Near the edge of that area? Ask on the call or in the form notes and we will confirm before booking anything.

Why does Burnsville water matter for my dishwasher?

Burnsville tap water runs about 23 to 25 grains per gallon, and the city does not soften it at the plant; part of the supply is filtered quarry water from the northwest corner of town, the rest comes from deep wells. That hardness leaves scale on dishwasher heating elements, spray arms and filters. The city itself notes that a home softener may help.

Is Bloomington’s water different from Burnsville’s?

Very. Bloomington lime-softens its well water at the city plant, from roughly 19 grains down to about 5, and part of its supply is already-softened water bought from Minneapolis. So the trouble there looks like soft-water trouble: too much detergent, foam spilling from a washer, etched glassware. Adding a home softener on top of city-softened water is usually unnecessary.

How should Lakeville and Prior Lake homeowners set their softeners?

Lakeville’s water is about 18 grains, and the city suggests setting home softeners to roughly 14 to 16, because water softened too far can turn corrosive. Prior Lake runs about 19.3 grains, and its plant pulls out iron and manganese without softening. We don’t service softeners, but a wrong setting shows up as film, scale or suds, so we will point it out.

What breaks after a storm knocks out power in Savage or Apple Valley?

The overnight tornadoes of September 17, 2021, which touched down in Apple Valley, Savage and Burnsville, and the July 28, 2025 storms that left about 300,000 customers in Minnesota and Wisconsin without power both led to the same calls: control boards that won’t respond, ice makers that never restart and freezers left warm too long. We test the appliance and the outlet that feeds it.
